Close to Stanthorpe, Galah Cottage is a newly fitted out three bedroom cottage on Mountain Park, a 1,085ha working cattle property on the northern fringe of the Granite Belt Wine Country. It is just outside the most northerly township of Dalveen so it is really well located if you are coming up from Brisbane after work. We are about two and a quarter hours from Brisbane with bitumen to the front gate so it is an easy trip.
Our Cottage is about 900m above sea level, is in a beautiful, fairly secluded spot and the area is sometimes quite cold so the internal and external fire places come in handy. The wildlife is everywhere and the night sky is just magical. Artists and bush walkers love this country because they can unwind however they please. We are just 4km from the nearest winery, 8 minutes from the best apple pie, 10 minutes from a decent breakfast and less than 20 minutes from Woolworths and IGA in Stanthorpe. Cheese lovers can get their thrills nearby. Great fruit is also available locally.
We've tried to bring nature into the cottage so we have virtually no curtains.
