Jerilderie is located on the Newell Highway and is a major merino stud area. It is also the gateway to the Kidman Way, an 800 kilometre outback highway. Jerilderie's large agricultural industry includes olives, onions, cotton, canola, wool, cotton, beef, wheat and rice. Nearly a quarter of the Nation's tomatoes are grown in the area and there is a tomato-processing factory in town.
