For more than 150 years, Seppelt Great Western has been a leader in Australian Winemaking. From the early days in the Barossa Valley in 1851, through to the purchase of the Great Western winery in 1918 and to the present. Seppelt has been an engine driving the Australian wine industry forward with a spirit of innovation and dedication to quality. Seppelt Great Western proudly presents one of the most versatile portfolios of any winery. A complete showcase of wines spanning sparkling and table styles, combining an old world pedigree with the new world vision of our winemakers. Great Western, and its world famous "Drives", are the home of sparkling and table wine production. This diverse range of classics includes such iconic wines as Seppelt Great Western "Salinger" Pinot Noir Chardonnay, Great Western Show Sparkling Shiraz and "St Peters" Great Western Shiraz. Great Western Winery was established in 1865, and in 1868 more than one and a half kilometres of underground tunnels were dug by miners for sparkling wine maturation, known as "Drives". Once completed in 1932 the "Drives" reached three kilometres in length. These unique underground cellars are home to some iconic wines produced throughout the years at Seppelt Great Western. Amongst these wines guests can enjoy a dinner to remember or maybe say "I do" for that ultimate Wedding Experience. 'The original vineyard was established in 1865, and in the last century more than three kilometres of underground tunnels were dug by miners for Sparkling wine maturation. Two real jewels here are the complex and intriguing Show Sparkling Shiraz and the polished and integrated St Peter's Shiraz. Both from 'St Peter's Vineyard', they proudly and loudly proclaim their Great Western origin.' Ben Canaider
